Our trackcar (Perfect Touch / SORmyCAR) has recently received some loving in the form of a Vanos rebuild and a Mishimoto UK radiator to keep coolant temps stable, especially important when on the 13th Nov she will be out on track at Brands Hatch! More on that in a future article.
With this Porsche 911 C4S we carried out works including an ECU remap with the ECU removed and worked on while on our bench, we fitted larger throttle bodies and exhaust headers.
We were tasked with fitting some lovely OEM Carbon parts to the exterior of this BMW M2.
Front bumper side splitters, side skirts, rear carbon lip spoiler.
This BMW X5M was brought into us for an ECU remap. These vehicles are simply awesome anyway so with additional BMW and torque are sure to surprise many sports cars on the road.

The stock engine unfortunately suffered a failure, has been recovered to us and now we will begin planning and building an engine to take the boost!

25/02/16 – Recovery of car – planning begins!
26/02/16 – Engine is out!
We didn’t waste any time; the M3 engine is out and ready to be stripped. We will inspect internal damage and prepare for the build. When the car is being built back up we will be tidying up the car in general including fixing other minor faults.
Now the car is in the hands of Perfect Touch it will be looked after, ready to win medals…
02/03/16 – Detonation!
We have had a look at the stripped down engine and can show you what has gone wrong. Essentially the water injection system that was fitted to the intake as part of the Supercharging has failed and the cylinder has become too hot causing the fuel to ignite before it is sparked by the spark-plug. You can see some of the damage this has caused to the top of the piston in the picture below.
We have an update on the progress of the BMW M3 E46 supercharged build. The engine components are starting to arrive, some of which you can see in the pictures below – rods, crankshaft, pistons, injectors and Schrick cams. We are also discussing other plans with the client including engine management and transmission changes. Watch this space…
24/09/17 – Power Run after remap
This stunning old Mustang was lovely to have around the workshop. We did a carburettor tune-up on her.
This is a ‘First Generation’ Mustang which were produced from 1965 to 1973.
Becoming a more common sight at Perfect Touch rolling road are the latest Lamborghinis including this Aventador with its unique bodywork and wrap.
This EVO 10 was brought into us with engine damage, we diagnosed a number of faliures with the engine including a spun big end bearing, damaged rod and crank case damage.
We spoke to our client about what options they had and they decided to upgrade a number of components allowing for a safe increase in power with more reliability.
We supplied and fitted Marley pistons, Manley rods, ARP head stud kit, crank case stud kit and conrod bolts, ACL race bearings, a Commetic head gasket, Garrett Turbo-charger, equal-length header, downpipe, we renewed the timing chain and guides, skimmed the head, intake and exhaust valves cut and seated, new oil cooler and oil pump, Walbro fuel pump, injectors upgrade. To increase gearbox reliability for more power we have also up
Next up is to run in the engine over 500 miles minimum before dynoing and mapping the car.
This Honda Accord Type-S K24 underwent some power upgrades with us. We fitted a supercharger, matched with bigger injectors, our own custom 3.5inch intake, K Tuner ECI and a quality map by Romain on our Dyno.

This exciting project has a number of surprising elements, the power the car makes, just how fast and driveable the car is every day, the unusual but enjoyable VR6 engine sound and the age of our client who wanted this work done…he is a retired gentleman, let’s put it that way!
We were tasked with fitting a Rotrex supercharger to this Audi TT 3.2V6. There is no specific kit to fit this car so we custom designed and built the whole thing.
Take a look through the pictures further down to give you an idea what we did.
Next on the cards is a clutch upgrade for the DSG transmission.
This rare and wonderful Lotus Esprit 2.2 Turbo came to us with running issues, we have just given the car back to the owner in the last few days.
This fourth generation (Peter Stevens redesign) Lotus Esprit from 1989 features a 2.2l 4 cylinder turbo-charged engine. We have worked on this car before, fitting upgraded suspension components and various other modifications.
The engine unfortunately had a number of oil leaks when it was brought into us. It was running really rough and she clearly wasn’t well.
We diagnosed the oil leaks, injectors and plugs as being the factors.
We stripped the engine to enable us to reseal parts such as the sump gasket, crank seals, rocker cover gasket and oil pump gasket.
Wheile we had the engine out we also installed a new clutch, new cambelt and new water pump.

We gave the car a mini overhaul while it was with us, including suspension upgrades and body modifications.
The work we carried out included: upgrade rear splitter requiring modification to the stock bumper and re-colouring the reverse sensors, upgraded suspension springs, upgraded air intake system, upgrade exhaust by Miltek, bonnet lifters and chassis strengthening; all adding to the overall functionality, performance and style of this stunning car.

This Vauxhall Monaro VXR came in with a knocking bottom end, which is a rare situation with these ‘bullet-proof’ LS series Chevrolet engines. Never the less, we know this car has taken a beating and while the engine needs to be rebuilt, it would be rude not to carry out some upgrades too.
These include, forged rods, lightened and balanced bottom end, upgraded cams, upgrade valve springs, high flow inlet manifold, full exhaust system including manifolds and a K&N induction kit.
With all this work now complete we run the VXR up on our dyno where she produced 530bhp, with a very clean torque curve, developing power all the way.
This 997 Porsche 911 C2S came to us as it had a number of different noises coming from the engine bay, plus there was smoke coming from the exhaust.
We could see straight away the engine was burning oil, the smoke from the exhaust was the giveaway.
We know there is a common issue with nickel cylinder liners on the 3.8 litre engine as we have rebuilt so many of these engines now. But we perform a full diagnostic to be sure of the root-cause.
We used a bore scope to inspect the cylinder liners and pistons. We found 2 cyclinders on bank 2 which had pick-up, this is where the piston starts to wear away at the cylinder wall and this in turn causes oil to get into the combustion chamber (above the piston).
We stripped down the engine to confirm the fault.
The remedy for this fault is to rebuild the engine with steel liners taking the place of the original cylinder walls.

This Nissan GTR came in for a modified bell housing and sport cat downpipes.
The bell housing on the GTR is not one of it’s best features and even OE replacements and revisions still have an issue with noise and vibration. The replacement unit we fitted here solves the issue with a relatively simple solution. New rear bearing is fixed position roller bearing design instead of the ball race bearing. The retention of the front bearing is also improved for increased strength.
The sport cat downpipes allow for a faster turbine spool up due to less back pressure, therefor increased power output is possible with less engine strain.
We did have an issue with removing the turbo’s, due to the vehicle’s age and many heat cycles, all but ONE exhaust stuf snapped on the way out. So we had to split the turbos to be able to get them onto our pillar drill safely, drill out the old studs to replace them with stronger studs with thread inserts.
You can see from the pictures we had fun working on this GTR.
Our client Gary brought his R34 GTR in for healthcheck after a few track days. We checked the fluid levels, the suspension, engine and under the car to make sure everything is still tip-top.
The engine was recently re-built by us for a higher state of tune and is still going strong as expected!
For this Audi TTS we fitted a decat pipe and carried out a stage 2 ECU remap.
The unlocked BHP and torque is very impressive as you can see with the dyno graph below.

A beautiful Ford Mustang in for Miltek Cat-back exhaust system and Roush rear valence to cater for the quad tipped exhaust.
