We now have the R35 GTR engine stripped because we found low compression from one cylinder. A few other issues we have found were better found now! A loose crank bolt caused the crank pulley key to be heavily damaged, this would of caused the engine timing chain to slip and destroy the engine. We also found a large boost leak causing one of the turbos to over spin and damage the turbo internals! Now to put it back together correctly.
We had the stunning Nissan GTR in for a brake upgrade. We love this car!
It’s now using ferrodo DS2500 pads front and rear and new rotors on the rear, the DS2500’s give great cold bite, low noise and high fade tolerances. Perfect for a road car!
This Nissan GTR came in for a modified bell housing and sport cat downpipes.
The bell housing on the GTR is not one of it’s best features and even OE replacements and revisions still have an issue with noise and vibration. The replacement unit we fitted here solves the issue with a relatively simple solution. New rear bearing is fixed position roller bearing design instead of the ball race bearing. The retention of the front bearing is also improved for increased strength.
The sport cat downpipes allow for a faster turbine spool up due to less back pressure, therefor increased power output is possible with less engine strain.
We did have an issue with removing the turbo’s, due to the vehicle’s age and many heat cycles, all but ONE exhaust stuf snapped on the way out. So we had to split the turbos to be able to get them onto our pillar drill safely, drill out the old studs to replace them with stronger studs with thread inserts.
You can see from the pictures we had fun working on this GTR.
Our client Gary brought his R34 GTR in for healthcheck after a few track days. We checked the fluid levels, the suspension, engine and under the car to make sure everything is still tip-top.
The engine was recently re-built by us for a higher state of tune and is still going strong as expected!
This R33 GTR is in one of the best conditions we have ever seen. It is so clean inside and out, mechanically and aesthetically.
We performed a routine inspection, service and compression test.
Our client Gary brought in his R34 GTR for a more aggressive track set-up on the suspension. The car is used mainly for track days although it is fully road legal.
The front tyres were wearing on the outside which meant among other things the camber had to be adjusted to ensure more surface area of the tyre is in contact with the tarmac under extreme cornering.
We fitted top adjustable camber arms, upgraded rear subframe bushes and we carried out a 4 wheel alignment
Our client’s Skyline R34 GTR, in for a quick rolling road session
It made 500bhp at 1.2bar of boost!
A returning customer brought his Daytona Blue Nissan GTR in for routine servicing
The customer of this Nissan Skyline wanted us to carry out some ‘TLC’ on his car as well as a full service.
