Audi Servicing, Diagnostics & Repair in Hertfordshire

The name Audi comes from the Latin for “listen”, and listening is exactly where our servicing starts – to you, to how your car drives, and to every moving part of your Audi. You get every facility you would expect from a main dealer and more, typically for around half dealer prices and without affecting your warranty.

From the A1 to the A8, the Q range and TT to the R8 supercar and the S and RS performance models, our experienced team treats your Audi with the care it deserves – using OE or OE-equivalent parts and following Audi service schedules to the letter.

Audi engines and models we know inside out

Premium and performance Audis reward proper, knowledgeable care. Here is some of what we see day to day across the range, and how we keep these cars healthy.

TFSI and TSI petrol engines

The four-cylinder EA888 2.0 TFSI is found across the A3, A4, A5, A6, TT and Q range, and it rewards attentive servicing. On earlier cars built before 2013 the plastic timing chain tensioner can wear, giving a cold-start rattle that should never be ignored, so we replace the tensioner and chain with the uprated parts before it lets go. We also see oil consumption from piston-ring wear, and carbon build-up on the intake valves that is normal for direct-injection engines – we remove the manifold and walnut-blast the valves to restore airflow, response and economy. The supercharged 3.0 TFSI V6 in the S4, S5, A6 and SQ5 is strong when looked after; we stay on top of the water pump and thermostat coolant leaks, the crankcase breather under the supercharger and the rear timing cover oil leaks.

DSG, S tronic and quattro

Audi’s DSG and S tronic dual-clutch gearboxes are superb but need their oil and filter changed on interval to protect the mechatronic unit and clutch packs, which are the parts that get expensive when servicing is skipped. We carry out the correct transmission service for both wet and dry clutch boxes. On quattro models with the Haldex coupling we change the Haldex oil and filter on schedule so the all-wheel-drive system engages cleanly and the rear axle is not left starved.

TDI diesel engines

Audi TDI diesels are excellent long-distance engines when maintained properly. The things to watch are EGR valve and cooler faults, DPF blockages on cars used mainly for short journeys, and the cambelt, which must be renewed on interval along with the water pump and tensioner. We service the EGR system, carry out DPF regeneration and cleaning, and replace cambelt kits to the correct schedule to keep these engines reliable.

Electrical, MMI and A8 air suspension

Modern Audis are heavily electronic, so we run dealer-level diagnostics for warning lights, MMI infotainment and comfort-system faults, and module coding and service resets. On the A8, and other models fitted with adaptive air suspension, the air springs perish and the compressor can fail after several years, leaving the car sitting low or uneven – we diagnose air leaks, replace air springs and compressors and recalibrate ride height. Across the range we also handle the Audi staples: electric water pump and thermostat replacement, carbon build-up on direct-injection petrols, and oil-leak diagnosis and repair.
