Nissan GT-R (R35) Servicing, Diagnostics & Repair in Hertfordshire

The R35 Nissan GT-R is one of the most advanced performance cars ever built, and its sophisticated four-wheel-drive drivetrain demands experience and the right equipment to look after properly. We give your GT-R every facility you would expect from a main dealer and more, typically for around half dealer prices and without affecting your warranty.

From early 2009 cars through to the latest Premium, Black Edition and Nismo models, our experienced team treats your R35 with the care it deserves, using OE or OE-equivalent parts and following Nissan service schedules to the letter. We keep the correct fully synthetic engine oil developed for the VR38DETT in stock, so your GT-R is always serviced on the right specification.

Nissan GT-R (R35) and the work we know inside out

The R35 carries the GT-R name first made famous by the classic Skyline, but it is a very different machine that rewards proper, knowledgeable care. Here is some of what we see day to day on the R35, and how we keep these cars healthy and strong.

VR38DETT engine & cooling

The hand-built twin-turbo VR38DETT V6 is a strong and reliable engine when it is looked after on the right schedule. The things we watch are ignition coil packs and misfires, oil leaks from the spark-plug-tube seals in the cam covers that can spoil a coil, and, on higher-mileage or hard-driven cars, big-end bearing wear. We keep these engines healthy with frequent correct-specification oil and filter services, coil pack and spark plug replacement, cam-cover seal repairs, and a thorough cooling-system service so the engine and its oil coolers keep temperatures under control on road and track.

GR6 dual-clutch transmission

The rear-mounted GR6 twin-clutch transaxle is the heart of the GT-R driving experience and the part that most rewards strict maintenance. We see bellhousing and clutch wear, valve-body and shift-piston wear on earlier cars (where Nissan issued a service fix), line-pressure sensor faults that can drop the car into limp mode, and mechatronic and solenoid issues caused by tired, dirty fluid. The single best thing you can do is keep to a sensible transmission and differential fluid-change interval, well inside Nissan’s figures if the car is driven hard, which is exactly how we service them. We also fit and service uprated cooling where a car sees track use.

Forced induction & engine builds (mechanical)

Forced induction is central to GT-R ownership, and we approach it as mechanical and hardware work. We carry out turbocharger inspection and replacement, intake, intercooler and boost-pipe work, fuelling hardware, clutch and transmission strengthening, and full mechanical engine builds with uprated internals for owners who want a stronger, more durable bottom end. Every build is set up on our rolling road so we can verify BHP, torque and health, with all power coming from properly engineered mechanical components rather than software.

Brakes, driveline & geometry

The GT-R’s large Brembo brakes work hard, and on track or in spirited road use the discs can distort or develop micro-cracks and the pads wear quickly, so we supply and fit discs, pads and fresh fluid and keep the system in top condition. On the driveline we service the front transfer case and the front and rear differentials with the correct oils, and we set up four-wheel alignment and corner-weighting so your GT-R puts its power down cleanly, looks after its tyres and stays balanced and stable.

Nissan GT-R servicing FAQs

Under Block Exemption rules, an independent specialist can service your GT-R without affecting its manufacturer or used-car warranty, provided the correct schedule is followed and OE-quality parts are used, which is exactly what we do.
The GR6 twin-clutch transaxle is sensitive to fluid condition, so we recommend regular transmission and differential fluid changes, kept well inside the factory figures if the car is driven hard or sees track use. Clean fluid protects the clutches, solenoids and shift mechanism and helps prevent the wear-related faults these gearboxes can develop.
Yes. We run professional diagnostic equipment for GT-R fault-finding, misfire and sensor diagnosis, service resets and module work, the same jobs you would expect from a main dealer.
Yes. We treat GT-R performance as mechanical and hardware work, including turbocharger, intake and intercooler upgrades, clutch and transmission strengthening and full engine builds with uprated internals. Every car is set up and verified on our in-house rolling road.
Our workshop is on Sewardstone Road, serving Nissan GT-R owners across Hertfordshire, North London and Essex. We also offer a free vehicle health check and a courtesy car.
