Skoda Servicing, Diagnostics & Repair in Hertfordshire

Skoda has earned its reputation for sensible, well-built cars that just keep going, and ours is the workshop that keeps them going. We offer every facility you would expect from a main dealer and more, typically for around half dealer prices and without affecting your warranty.

From the Fabia to the Superb, the Kodiaq to the all-electric Enyaq and the hot vRS models, our experienced team treats your Skoda with the care it deserves, using OE or OE-equivalent parts and following Skoda service schedules to the letter.

Servicing, diagnostics and repair for your Skoda

We look after the full Skoda range with servicing & repair, auto electrical diagnostics, 4-wheel alignment, rolling road and TerraClean. As Skoda shares its engines and gearboxes with the wider Volkswagen Audi group, we also look after Audi, SEAT and Volkswagen. We follow manufacturer schedules and use OE or OE-equivalent parts, so your warranty stays intact and your Skoda keeps performing as it should.

We service all Skoda models:

Octavia & Octavia vRS

Fabia & Scala

Superb & Superb vRS

Kodiaq & Karoq

Enyaq (electric) & plug-in hybrids

Skoda engines and the work we know inside out

Skoda shares its engines and gearboxes with the rest of the Volkswagen Audi group, so the things we see day to day are familiar across Audi, SEAT and VW too. Here is some of what we look after, and how we keep these engines and transmissions healthy.

TSI petrol engines

The 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8/2.0 TSI petrol engines power most of the Skoda range, from the Fabia to the Octavia and Superb. On the earlier chain-driven 1.2 and 1.4 TSI units we keep a close eye on timing chain stretch and tensioner wear, where a cold-start rattle should never be ignored, and we replace the chain and tensioner before it lets go. On the later belt-driven engines the plastic water pump and thermostat housing are the usual culprits for slow coolant leaks. Because these are direct-injection engines, carbon build-up on the intake valves is common, so we carry out intake decarbonising to restore smoothness and economy. We also fit ignition coils and spark plugs to the correct specification.

TDI diesels – EGR and DPF servicing

The 1.6 and 2.0 TDI diesels are strong, economical engines when looked after, and most of the issues we see come down to short urban journeys. Carbon deposits clog the EGR valve and the diesel particulate filter never gets hot enough to regenerate, which brings on rough running, lost power and warning lights. We clean or replace EGR valves, carry out forced DPF regeneration and cleaning, service injectors and advise on the kind of driving that keeps a diesel healthy.

DSG transmissions

Many Skodas use the DSG twin-clutch automatic gearbox, and regular servicing is the single best thing you can do for it. The DQ250 wet-clutch box needs a fluid and filter change roughly every 40,000 miles, which we carry out with the correct oil and a full reset. On the DQ200 dry-clutch box, fitted to many smaller and petrol models, we diagnose the well-known mechatronic faults that cause jerky shifts, power loss and limp-home mode, and put them right rather than simply clearing the codes.

Cooling & electrical

Across the range we handle the Skoda and VW Group staples: water pump and thermostat replacement, coolant leak diagnosis, and the auto electrical work these cars increasingly rely on. From battery registration and module coding to fault-finding on sensors, wiring and the electronics behind the dashboard, we have the dealer-level diagnostic equipment to get to the bottom of it, including HV-safe servicing for the all-electric Enyaq and plug-in hybrids.

Recent Skoda work

From routine servicing and DSG fluid changes to EGR and DPF work and vRS geometry on the rolling road, Skodas are a regular sight in our workshop. Whatever yours needs, it is in safe hands with a team that knows the Volkswagen Audi group inside out.

Yes. We carry out DQ250 wet-clutch DSG fluid and filter services with the correct oil, and we diagnose and repair the mechatronic faults found on the DQ200 dry-clutch gearbox rather than simply clearing the warning.
